California is the nation's great vineyard, supplying grapes for most of the wine produced in the United States. For more than a century California wineries have played a game of catch-up. California is vineyard country to big, established and very famous for its wineries. Not blessed with a single indigenous example of vitis vinifera, they had no choice but to try to replicate the successes of other regions. They are the world’s tradition-bound winemakers produces the highest quality wine to compete with the world’s best winemakers. There are more than historic 700 wineries in the California and this is why these wineries have brought international attention to California as a wine country. In fact California’s premier wines are recognized throughout the world. There are some of the more popular chateaus in the whole of California and the world are the Robert Mondavi winery, Domaine Chandon, Niebaum-Coppola Estate winery, Beaulieu Vineyards and Beringer Vineyards. Robert Mondavi is stylish and graceful wine and considered to be the father of California wine. In 1966, Robert G. Mondavi founded the Robert Mondavi Winery to create wines in California that belong in the company of the world’s finest wine. For over three decades Robert Mondavi wineries symbolize to excellence and the distinctive wines that define the very best of Napa Valley. Robert Mondavi Winery is located in the heart of Napa Valley, California. Domain Chandon is renowned for its sparkling winemaking experience and ancestors who defined innovation helped to form today's Domaine Chandon, which continues the tradition of discovery and passion for great winemaking. Moet and Chandon, a great champagne house from France, decided to start making sparkling wines in Napa Valley using the French traditional techniques in the 1970’s. Domain Chandon was produced its first vintage wine in 1976. Today, the winery is famous not just for its sparkling wines but for its majestic setting grounds and architecture. Probably the Niebaum-Coppola Estate Winery is the most scenic vineyard in California. Francis Ford Coppola the famous director of "The Godfather" was purchased the whole estate from Gustave Nebium who was earlier owned to this estate. The original Napa Valley estate established and changed the winery name from Niebaum-Coppola Estate Winery to Rubicon Estate. He celebrated the restoration with the historic chateau and made it into the spectacular winery it is today. The winery produces a variety of products, of which the Rubicon series symbolizes the highest quality in winemaking. Beaulieu Vineyard one of the oldest wineries in California was established in 1900 by Georges de Latour. It is Located in Rutherford, California in the Napa Valley. The winery is well-known for its fine reserve wines, especially the George de Latour Cabernet Sauvignon. BV also invented novel techniques in winemaking. Beringer Vineyards is one of Napa Valley's most historic one of the distinctive winery than any other winery in the world founded in 1897. It was the only one winery estate who ever won "Wine of the Year" for both a red and white wine. For a good hit there are several promising Napa Valley wine producers awaiting their hit in the winemaking business world. California is a prolific wine country producing some of the best for a long time and in fact forever too. |
